Brewing the Perfect Cup

In today’s world, there are a growing number of ways you can brew your coffee.  We encourage you to experiment & take note on how a certain brew method affects the characteristics of a specific coffee so you can find the perfect cup.

With that said, we suggest that our coffees are brewed manually, using a Chemix, Hario V60, Kalita Wave or Bonmac drip cone using a 16:1 (water to ground coffee) ratio.  We also are exploring the use of a Melodrip which we highly recommend. Depending on the coffee, this ratio may change but this is a good starting point.  Related to this, we suggest that you grind your beans on demand using a burr grinder, like the Baratza Encore or Hario hand grinder, to ensure more consistency in the particle size (this all affects the final extraction).  Lastly, use hot, filtered water (198-205 F) and shoot for an extraction time between 2:30 and 4 minutes.  Whichever brew method you decide to use, all that really matters in the end is that the coffee tastes good to you and that you’re having fun!  If you have any questions or are looking for suggestions, please let us know.
